Job overview
Full / part time: up to 37.5 hours per week : Permanent
We have exciting opportunities in the Trauma & Orthopaedic Team here at the Royal Derby Hospital. We are looking for qualified Occupational Therapists with interest in working in an acute setting.
The positions will include some occasional Bank holiday and weekend working as part of core hours.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to assess and rehabilitate a variety of patients on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Unit. You will be expected to make effective and timely decisions on a person’s rehabilitation potential and need for further therapy provision.
You will be responsible for providing on-going assessment and treatment, working on patient centred goals with the aim to increase function and independence.
This post offers regular supervision, in-service training sessions along with the opportunity to develop clinical competencies as part of your appraisal.
This post will offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in this clinical field within a supportive Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in order to support orthopaedic patients throughout different stages of the pathway.
You will be required to have excellent communication skills, time management and prioritisation skills to work as part of the MDT.
