Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team, who are responsible for the pharmacy
aspects of Clinical Trials involving Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs).

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is a very research active Trust and clinical trials are conducted across a wide spectrum of clinical specialities, so your job will be very varied.

 

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a specialised team of Pharmacists and Technicians who ensure all aspects of pharmaceutical input occur in accordance with legal requirements and Good Clinical Practice .This encompasses anything from  prescribing,dispensing, administration, stock management, storage and disposal of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and non-IMPs

As a trial Technician primarily at the Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) site, you will be working within the Pharmacy Clinical Trials area in the Pharmacy Dispensary, as well as working alongside our Aseptic and Chemotherapy Teams.  Day to day you will also be interacting with a variety of staff within the Trust, whether that is on the phone, via email or in person face to face.

The post holder must have the ability to plan and work both independently and as part of a team, in order to provide an outstanding service to trial patients as well as support the Pharmacy Department, Research and Development department, Clinical Teams and trial sponsors.

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician [GPhC]
