Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for;

Maternity Services at Derby delivers care to approximately 8,000 women, of which 6000 women birth at the Derby Teaching Hospitals. We have co-located Birth Centre that provides care to 1,500 women and a high risk Labour Ward that delivers care to a diverse population with complex medical and social needs. We are a dynamic service and provide maternity care within Derby and the surrounding areas.

Our Primary Care Midwives work within 5 geographical teams (two city teams/three county teams) and they hold a clinical caseload for antenatal and postnatal continuity. In addition to running antenatal clinics our community Midwives undertake postnatal clinics, home visits, parent education classes and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe effective care. We also offer an excellent homebirth service which you will be supported to participate in.

Successful candidates will be considered for all teams.

We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication and time management skills who can demonstrate the ability to balance competing priorities effectively.

We offer an extensive, supportive induction package which would be tailored to your specific requirements.

A requirement is a current driving licence and a vehicle available for work purposes. Please confirm this within your supporting information.

The successful candidate would be offered a contract as a Community Midwife. We are not able to offer contracts for a specific community team.
