Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Registered Nurses (either newly qualified or experienced ) to join the Head and Neck Outpatient Department Team.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday covering a variety of shifts with occasional weekend activity. The role will be based  predominately  in Ears Nose & Throat, with cross working  in Max Fax as required, both of which are located within the Head and Neck Unit.

The department offers a wide range of clinics which include, General ENT/ Max Fax, Head and Neck Cancer, Voice, Trans Nasal Oesophagoscopy and Balance.

Main duties of the job

The Registered Nurse will be involved in the day to day organisation of clinics. Working with a wide Multi-disciplinary Team. They will be involved in assisting the Clinician with various procedures during consultations. 

The Registered Nurse is  expected to participate in Aural Care Clinics at the Royal Derby Hospital and out reach clinics under the guidance of the Aural Care Specialist Nurse. 

Experience in  the above area is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Co-coordinating clinic sessions and ensuring the smooth running of sessions
  • Assisting clinicians during clinic session
  • Assisting with procedures for example Trans-nasal oesophagoscpy. laryngoscopy
  • Performing  Aural care  for clinicians patients and also in the  Nurse led Clinics
