Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCPC registered Dietitian with a wide range of clinical experience to become a member of our Dietetic Team at the Queens Hospital Burton site. In this post you will play a central role in the nutritional care of inpatients and outpatients as part of a well respected Dietetic Team in this Foundation Trust. You must be enthusiastic, motivated and flexible.

At the Queens Hospital Burton site we are an Acute Service and our team consists of 13 Dietitians, 2 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and Secretary.

You will be responsible for providing the Dietetic Service to a range of Inpatient Wards. You will also be responsible for regular Gastrointestinal Dietetic Outpatient Clinics. You will also provide education to a range of healthcare staff within the Trust. You will be expected to hold responsibility for your own caseload, demonstrating good skills in prioritisation and delegation. The Dietetic Team use electronic patient records, work closely with several Multi-disciplinary Teams and has excellent management support

 

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for providing dietetic assessment, management and treatment for a variety of nutritional issues in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.  This includes managing a busy caseload on our gastroenterology ward as well as other inpatient wards.  The post-holder will also be responsible for a regular gastro outpatient clinic providing dietary advice on a range of conditions including coeliac disease, IBD and IBS.

You will provide regular supervision to junior members of the team.

The department is committed to student training and is approved for A, B and C placements therefore you will be involved in the training of student Dietitians.
