Zero hours per week - As and When Required Working Arrangements
Standard Working Arrangements are £20374.87 Whole Time Equivalent pro-rated.
The Flexible Staffing Services aims to match suitably skilled workers with the flexible staffing requirements of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
This flexible workforce coverage will enable Trust areas to operate at required staffing levels, allowing for a quality provision of service.
Domestic Services Department pride ourselves on the high standards of cleanliness throughout our services. Healthcare Cleaners are a valued member of the health care team and are respected for the work they do.
Main duties of the job
Healthcare Cleaners provide a range of cleaning duties across the Trust and support services to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service to all patients, staff and visitors is delivered.
Basic knowledge of cleaning standards and previous experience of working in a hospital environment, which can include wards, outpatient /clinical areas, offices areas, Doctor’s accommodation.
Use of mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment is desirable. You must be able to work alone or as part of a team.

Cleaning Experience
Essential criteria
- Have experience in cleaning preferably within an health service setting
Desirable criteria
- Experience in cleaning other settings
Cleaning Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Basic Numeracy & Literacy skills
- Knowledge of COSSH (using chemicals safely)
Desirable criteria
- Cleaning certificates, NVQ, BICS, NEBS
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
