UHDB are looking for motivated, enthusiastic doctors to join their Trust. A busy, progressive, forward thinking Trust, we have been successfully recruiting to these posts for 4 years and would like you to join our consultants and teams working in Acute Medicine.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint Junior Clinical Fellow’s at F2+ level to join our Acute Medicine Department. This is a 12 month fixed term post (extendable to 15 months) and will be based at the Burton Site.

This is a Trust post and therefore not recognised for training, however, the post holders shall be afforded the same training opportunities and programme as other Specialty junior doctors, providing a wide range of experience and training.  Candidates would have access to learning opportunities, access our state of art simulation facility/library and resources in medical education centre.  You will receive educational and clinical supervision, dedicated study leave budget and specified days study leave, and support to maintain an eportfolio. Subject to individual requirements, there is also scope to attend ALS or IMPACT courses. We will be keen to support and facilitate your annual appraisal to help you progress and develop into your future.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Our Trust recognises that investment in the training opportunities that are necessary for your development as a doctor is vital for both our patients and our Trust. We would like to offer you opportunities to increase your out-patient experience (especially in acute medical clinics), build upon the skills you already have, learn new procedures and work in our friendly departments. There are opportunities to teach, perform Quality Improvement Projects and be part of our innovative teams.

The post will be based mainly in Acute Medicine with some provision to rotate in specialties where required.

Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice at the time of submitting an application and the right to work in the UK.

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Basic Life Support certification
Desirable criteria
  • Advanced Life Support certification

Eligibility

Essential criteria
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice at time of submitting application
  • A minimum 2 years post qualification medical experience in the UK or abroad, including experience in Acute Medicine or Medical specialties
Desirable criteria
  • Experience at foundation level
  • Experience in Acute Medicine
